All RO membranes have an optimal minimum operating pressure, home and light commercial have an optimal minimum operating pressure of 50psi. The system will operate below 50psi, however, the performance of your RO membrane will not be at it’s best causing your system to produce more wastewater. Adding a diaphragm pump ror RO system is an easy way to get your system running at the optimal pressure.
