The Birko 1311006 boil dry protection switch senses the temperature of boiling hot water system and stops the unit over heating. The thermostat does this by switching heating to the element off.
The 130c boil dry temperature safety thermostat detects when temperature gets to high in the boiling hot water system and open circuits causing power loss to the element protecting the boiler, the switch also has a manual reset button on it.
